Shapes
So, Maren doesn't know all of her shapes. This was brought to my attention by her preschool teacher a few weeks ago, and of course, I feel like a bad parent because of it. I saw this idea of making shapes out of marshmallows and toothpicks on Pinterest recently, and decided to try it with the kids. You know that tricky parent thing - disguising learning as play.
Maren needed a lot of assistance making the actual shapes, but enjoyed the process. Warner actually figured most of it out himself after a few tries.
I'd like to say that after this little exercise Maren knows all of her shapes. She does not. But, it was a fun activity and hopefully something stuck for her. Clearly I am not cut out to be a home school mom!

I am a home school mom and Stella doesn't know her colors. Yes, at 3 she can only decipher purple. And to make you feel even better, Brooke on occasion forgets and calls the rectangle the "door shape". Don't sweat it, Maren I'm sure is brillant. I can see it in her eyes in the photo you took of her in time out. :)
