Four months old!

I realize I said that I would update the blog after we returned from Florida, but it seems as though all I do anymore is take pictures of Warner, and I just had to post a few of them! He had his four-month Doctor's visit this past Monday. He weighed 16 pounds, 8 ounces and was 24 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 75th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. Ha! He had to get more shots at this visit too, which he obviously didn't like. They made him extremely fussy, which I was a bit bummed about because after his first round of shots two months ago he was just overly sleepy but not fussy. I was hoping for a repeat performance. Oh well, the fussiness only lasted for a few hours. This picture was taken this morning. I'm on a quest to keep Warner off the back of his head now that we have an appointment with Cincinnati Children's Hospital plastic surgery group on April 30th. Yes, Warner has a flat spot on the back of his head, and his pediatrician referred us to a specialist for it. Between now and his appointment we are trying to keep him off of his back as much as possible to fix the problem and hopefully eliminate the need for additional measures to round out his head. There is a possibility that he'll have to wear a corrective helmet if it doesn't get better. Isn't that terrible? So, I'm trying my hardest to focus on this new challenge of keeping him upright or on his side all of the time. The poor little guy fell asleep on his boppy this morning though, after playing. It's SO rough being a little boy.
Here Warner is in his swing. I was taking a nap and Kevin took this picture. Poor little scoot doesn't even have any pants on. He really does wear pants most of the time ...
We just got this new toy out this week. Warner LOVES it! He thinks he is absolutely hot stuff, standing up "by himself" in his little exer-saucer and playing with his toys. I thought this picture was a good one of the sheer joy he experiences when in there!
Leslie, Abby, and Ashley came to visit this weekend for a few hours, and we finally got a picture of the three cousins together where Warner is smiling. Now, if we could just get Ashley to smile, too, we'd be all set!
Here he is again in his exer-saucer. Notice the Miami shirt. He's finally big enough to fit into his Miami gear! Yippie! No offense to UK, but I was getting tired of Warner not sporting anything from my alma mater! It's tough to find infant Miami clothing, so I'm excited he can wear this shirt now.
Again, these jeans absolutely fracture me. And, notice the shoes - his first pair! I don't really see the necessity of Warner wearing shoes (it's not as though he's walking or anything) but Kevin's mom insisted, and these are certainly adorable. I suppose that just goes to show that I am a true Kentuckian now, seeing shoes as optional!?
This was taken on February 29th - my mom's 13th birthday! Kevin, Warner, and I drove my mom and sister back to Indianapolis and stayed for dinner that night to celebrate my mom's birthday. It was a long day and Warner wasn't all that excited about being at the restaurant, so we couldn't get a smile out of him for the picture. At least he's not crying in it. :)
I just had to include this picture, too. This is my absolute favorite hat that I have ever seen for babies. I have put this on Warner too many times to count and will cry the day it doesn't fit him anymore (which should probably be now, but I'm still squeezing his head in it anyway). I wonder if I could find one that is a bit bigger for next winter?

Okay, I probably won't post again until we return from Florida, as we leave Tuesday morning for our trip. We're going to Indy on Tuesday to take Meredith to chemo, and then we fly out Wednesday morning. Warner hasn't been the best at sleeping during the night lately - he's been up every three hours or so the past few nights. Needless to say, this hasn't been much fun! We had a little heart-to-heart tonight and I told him I've simply got to get more sleep at night. I hope that will work. We'll see ...
